Bible study should change us and we should be radically altered by studying God’s living word.

“And I will be filled with joy when we are together again.”

This session highlights Paul’s focus on togetherness and the power of community. Togetherness is where Jesus is and separation is where the enemy is. The enemy wants us separated and isolated. The enemy is the author of confusion and division. This is why this Bible study community is so precious and so powerful. We have togetherness in this group. We are stronger together.

Even though he would be executed soon Paul has an eternal perspective. Paul emphasizes unity throughout his writing.

Reference to Romans 8:18 “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love."

Hope is the anchor of our soul.

Key quotation: Hebrews 6:19 "this hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls”.

Who are we anchored too?

What does it mean to have a genuine, sincere, deep and unshakeable faith?

Paul saw that honest faith in Timothy. Timothy’s faith was generational from his mother (Eunice) and grandmother (Lois). Genuine faith is contagious.

Genuine faith is accepting God’s love and then the natural outpouring of loving him in return.

Faith is the most important thing that you can pass along to the next generation.

The choices you make now will impact your family lineage.
