“We Do Not Wage Spiritual Warfare against Flesh and Blood.”
Ephesians 6:10-20
1. The hidden spiritual warfare
Colossians 1:12-13
Through Jesus God has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
2. The spirit of rebellion
Psalm 2
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD and against his anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
3. Know that our Lord is still defeating the forces of evil.
Ephesians 6:12 We do not wage our warfare against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil.

4. Putting on the Whole Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-20
The defensive armor includes:
The belt of truth
The breastplate of righteousness
(NIV) having your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
The shield of faith
The helmet of salvation.
5. The belt of truth.
So how does one go about fastening on the belt of truth?
The Word of God is our source for truth.
John 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.
John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.
6. The breastplate of righteousness.
Matthew 5:18-20
The righteousness taught by the law.
Philippians 3:8-9
The righteousness that comes by faith.
Colossians 1:12-13
He has qualified us to share in the inheritance and to enter his kingdom.
7. Nothing has power to separate us from the Love of God.
Romans 8:31-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Conclusions:
There is a spiritual battle being fought by Satan and his demons against God and all who worship him.
Jesus gives us power to stand against the attacks of the enemy.
To fight and stand against the enemy we must use the weapons of warfare that God provides for us.
Conclusions:
We put on the belt of truth by searching out the truth found in God’s word.
We test all claims to truth against what the Holy Spirit is teaching us.
We put on the breastplate of righteousness by claiming the righteousness that comes by faith. The perfect righteousness of Jesus the sinless Lamb of God.
