Song # 844.2 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians we read about the resurrection of Christ in chapter 15.
By the Gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain (1 Corinthians 15:2). For what I received I passed onto you as of first importance, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3), that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:4), and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve (1 Corinthians 15:5). After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living (at the time of writing), though some have fallen asleep (1 Corinthians 15:6). Then He appeared to James, then to all the Apostles (1 Corinthians 15:7), and last of all He appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born (1 Corinthians 15:8). For I am the least of the Apostles and do not even deserve to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the Church of God (1 Corinthians 15:9). But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without affect. No, I worked harder than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me (1 Corinthians 15:10).
Thought for today: Jesus died for our sins so we could be with Him eternally.
Thought for the future: Jesus knows the way to heaven, so follow Him for life. Where will you spend your eternity?
