So today, we are diving back into the dreams and visions of Daniel in chapter seven. And here is how 7:9-10 reads. You will have to use your imagination a bit today.

As I looked, thrones were placed,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat;
his clothing was white as snow,
and the hair of his head like pure wool;
his throne was fiery flames;
its wheels were burning fire.
A stream of fire issued
and came out from before him;
a thousand thousands served him,
and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him;
the court sat in judgment,
and the books were opened. — Daniel 7:9-10

I believe most of us are afraid of the unseen world. I think a lot of this is because we spend so much time living in and thinking about natural things that supernatural things scare us. But the Bible teaches that we are supernatural creatures created by a supernatural God. We may appear natural, but we're only dressed in natural clothing. What we see, experience, and know during our natural life is only a shadow of the splendor we will one day see.

And right here, Daniel gets a glimpse through the window of time. He sees from the natural into the supernatural. As he does, he writes it down to remember the splendor of the images God gave him. And these images provide him with hope. They remind him that what he sees is not the whole picture. He learns that his captivity is but a moment in time. Daniel is one faithful man who lived seventy years of his natural life under the oppression of enemy kings. But God, in private moments, shows him that his captivity is but a glimpse in time. And at the end, a King is coming who will reign supreme. He will be greater than all the kings he has served. He is just and a judge who will rule forever. And when he comes, he will judge the natural with supernatural accuracy.

I believe we live in a time where we see the progression of evil in ways we didn't think possible during our lifetime. Businesses are perpetuating agendas through legal departments' that compete with the gospel. Institutions of learning are being turned into proving grounds for testing extreme ideologies. Politicians, well, they're still corrupt and divisive. And in the middle of all this, pastors and teachers have spent far too much time delivering messages that have turned the Bible into a self-help book for living in natural times. They sell us "simplified and natural" solutions for marriage, parenting, finance, and career that supposedly help us to have the life we've always wanted. But they fail to tell us that sin is the problem and that there is no hope found in this natural world. That's because hoping for natural solutions to supernatural issues is pointless. But eventually, we need to embrace it. Daniel did. He lived for seventy years underneath the wreckage of human sin.

Fellas, there is only one answer to the problems of our time. It is Jesus. The Ancient of Days. Only his coming will bring justice, clarity, and resolution to the supernatural problems in our natural life. So if you need answers to issues in your life today, turn to Jesus. He's got answers. And remember, seek answers from him before you have to answer to him.
