In chapter 7 paul is continuing to discuss sexual practices and the church. In the previous chapters he has been dealing with sexual practices that were immoral and unacceptable in the christian community. He is adamant that these practices are wrong and wanted all who practiced these things and other things like idolatry and greed to be purged from the community. The church is not to judge those outside the community but they are to judge those who practice evil and call themselves members of the church. Really important. We can’t leave the world - in fact we have to love the people in the world and point them to this Good God who gave himself for them and love them. The church often gets this completely backward - we rail and attack all the sin in the world and then ignore it and make excuses for it within our own church.
