While David wrote Psalm 16 out of his own insecurity and trial, he also wrote of the One who would be born according to the seed of David, the Lord Jesus Christ. We know this because both Peter and Paul quote from Psalm 16 and apply it to the Lord Jesus (see Acts 2.25-28, 36; 13.35-39). Easter is a point on the annual Christian calendar which emphasizes the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Verse 8-11 of our text demonstrate that 1) Jesus Christ set the Father always before Him in life; 2) found hope from the Father even in the face of death; 3) and found pleasures at the Father's right hand forevermore.
