The main idea of the passage before us is unmistakable.
In verse 19, Jesus groans over a faithless generation.
In verse 23, Jesus says that all things are possible for one who believes.

In verse 24, a helpless father cries out for help acknowledging his weak faith. In verse 29, Jesus indicates that prayer plays a crucial role in spiritual work. Prayer is a faith exercise.

The main idea of this miracle account is the need for faith.
The Christian life is a faith life. The righteous life is a life of faith.
It is that way because it is how God has ordained it. It’s that way because GOD MAKES IT POSSIBLE.

We are not believers by nature. God makes believers. God grants faith.
