In spite of the people (and priests) rejecting the love of God, and did not give Him the honor He deserved, God still had an everlasting love toward His people. Think of this: The most perfect offering one could give to the Lord would still not be perfect enough.

The requirement for a person to go to Heaven is pretty straight-forward. He, or she, must be as perfect as God is. An impossible task, unless there is a pure, substitute, offering. That offering would come some 400 years after Malchi was around. His Name is Jesus!
