A Thanksgiving Message / 1 Chronicles 16:8-11. Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. David longed for the Ark of the Covenant to be near Him. The Ark was a symbol of God’s abiding presence. This story shows us that the most important thing in our lives is God’s abiding presence. David even danced before the Lord as the Ark was brought into the City. A demonstration of his devotion and love for God. God had kept David in many places where he should not have gotten out of.
He never should’ve beaten Goliath and lived…but God
He never should’ve survived Saul’s attacks…but God
He never should’ve survived the wilderness..but God
He never should’ve survived the Philistines…but God
David understood the grace and goodness of God. God had kept him safe, delivered the kingdom into his hand and made a covenant with David that one from his lineage would always rule…
God was with David all the way from his mother’s womb to the throne. And God is with you today as well!
Rejoice and celebrate the abiding presence of God today….Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever. Cry out save us…Gather us that we may give you thanks and glory in You.
