Romans 10:1-4 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. (2) For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. (3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
What determines one's salvation? Is it one's zeal for God? Is it one's religion? Is it living a good life? Is it being kind to others? Is it one's church attendance? While these are all good things and can be evidence of salvation, these things do not determine our salvation. Our salvation is from God, provided by God, in Jesus Christ. Just as Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, God provided a sacrifice, he also provides our salvation. We must not look within ourselves but we must look to God.
