The Sanhedrin could no longer listen to Stephen and they shut their ears to him as their ancestors had done to the prophets and they stoned Steven to death and the early Christians fled Jerusalem and carried with them the Gospel of Jesus. This demonstrated how even in terrible situations, God uses events for his own glory.
