Our disproportionate reaction to AI hallucinations reveals two competing impulses: the need to preserve human exceptionalism by proving that machines are inferior, and the unspoken disappointment that AI cannot deliver the frictionless access to truth we secretly hoped it might provide. Both responses expose our discomfort with our own creatureliness. AI doesn't introduce error into creation; it mirrors it back to is. The theological invitation is not to condemn the machine or idolize it, but to make peace with limitation and root our trust in the One who is Truth.
