When Jesus spoke about love, He talked about laying down your life. He praised the widow who gave everything, not the ones who played it safe. The apostles didn’t spread the gospel while making sure they were always comfortable. They suffered, they sacrificed, they poured themselves out—because real love costs something.

Somewhere along the way, we started believing that love should be convenient. That we can serve, but only if it doesn’t disrupt our lives too much. But that’s not love. Jesus showed us what love really looks like—He left the glory of heaven, took on suffering, and gave everything. If our love has limits, if we’re always holding something back, we have to ask ourselves: Are we truly following Him?
