Jesus is coming back.

Are you looking for him? And by that, I mean, are you ready for the Lord's return? It doesn't mean I'm standing around on a street corner, staring at the sky. It means that I'm living a life that's ready for the Lord's return. Paul summed it up this way. I have fought the good fight. I have kept the faith. I have finished the course. There is later for me, a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will give to me and that day, and to all who love his appearing, all that are looking forward to the return of Christ. Here's what you need to be. You need to fight the good fight. The spiritual life.

The Christian life is a battle. We don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers and spiritual dominion in high play high places. It's a fight. I fought the good fight. I kept the faith you hold onto your faith. I finished the course. The Christian life is like a race. We must run it to win, not get an honorable mention ribbon.

We want to run to win. Paul said those who run in a race should run to win. So as I'm waiting for the Lord's return, let's make sure that we're fighting the good fight we're finishing our course. And there's a reward waiting for us, a crown of righteousness to those who love his appearing.

That's what we ought to be focused on now as followers of Jesus, as we await his return.
