Some stories in Scripture don’t end in victory or resolution — they end in tension. In Matthew 14, we find Herod’s moral collapse, John’s faithful suffering, and the disciples’ grief. Yet even in this dark moment, God is still present, teaching us that repentance is a gift, faithfulness sometimes leads to pain, and hope is never buried for good.
