This is the 5th message in our series, "Exodus: Under the Empire," and it goes through Exodus chapters 3 and 4.
In "Beyond a Doubt" we’ll see Moses express many doubts and give many excuses as he tries to get out of his calling.
Moses just doesn't want to do what God is asking him to do.
Moses' doubts are really just poor excuses. Moses is abandoning his people who are in desperate need. Moses is being selfish and only thinking about himself and his own comfort.
And God is not impressed.
God doesn’t just want Moses to be free from the oppressive powers of Egypt - God wants Moses to enter into the promised land of goodness, blessing, thriving, and joy - the life God has always intended for his people.
Being saved from death isn’t enough for God. God saves people into life. God saves people into his blessing so that they might share that blessing with others.
So God is sending Moses, God is going with Moses, and God is fully equipping Moses for the tasks ahead to help free his people from the slavery of Egypt and to lead them into God’s promised blessing.
So what doubts hold you back from sharing the love of Jesus with others? What excuses are holding you back from growing in your faith?
