Today we are going to learn from a book in the Bible written by the apostle, follower and witness of Jesus whose name was John. In chapter 1, verses 12 and 13 we read: “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

The title of this message is "A child of God".
Verse 12 affirms that to believe and to receive Jesus are conditions to have the right and the privilege to become children of God. Note that it says that “He gave the right to become children of God”. I cannot “become” something I already am. Clearly we are not all children of God. We are all God's creation. To become a child of God the Bible declares that we have to believe in Jesus with our mind and receive Him with our heart.

Verse13 explains that the children of God are born again, not of blood - meaning natural birth, nor by the will of the flesh, the desire of a man and a woman, or not even because we want.... but because God gives us this right when we believe in Jesus.

The question then for you is this:
- What are you going to do now, knowing that in order to become a child of God you need to believe and to receive Jesus? Are you going to ignore Him? Or instead, choose to pursue a personal relationship with Him? If your will is to begin an intimate relationship with God, the creator of the Universe and your creator, invite Jesus to come into your life by saying this prayer: Lord Jesus, I confess I am a sinner. Forgive my sins and come into my life. I'm yours and I want You to be my Lord and Savior. Help me God, I want to follow You all the days of my life, in Jesus name. Amen.

If you said this prayer and believed with all your heart, the Bible declares you are saved from eternal condemnation and instead have eternal life. You are now part of God's family, you are a CHILD OF GOD. This is just the beginning of your walk with Jesus. Get connected with a good Bible-based church, talk to God in prayer without ceasing and read the Bible daily.
