This talk explores some biblical images and metaphors for discipleship that help to provide us with a strong framework for spiritual formation. Through unpacking this overview, we will consider how resilient disciples are formed and what foundations we need to build on in the discipleship of others.

Rick Hill works for the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in the areas of discipleship and leadership. Rick speaks, teaches, and writes on these themes, with his first book The Deep Roots of Resilient Discipleship due to be published soon. He also serves as an elder in Carnmoney Church and has recently been involved in a fresh church plant from that church into the city centre of Belfast. Rick lives near Belfast in Northern Ireland with his wife Sarah and 2 young sons, and in his spare time he enjoys running.
