Acts 3:11-26 Peter’s second public sermon

1. When people praise you, what do you do? ( ) Say ‘Thank you’ and enjoy the compliment.

( ) Give all the glory to the Lord and do not steal God’s glory.

=because of miracle which people saw

=they knew old testament scriptures.

3. Peter exalted Jesus.

=they thought that Peter and John had the power

=The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

4. Peter confronted sinners.
a. What sins did they commit? 3:13,14 disowned Jesus, denied him and refused him

b. What are the differences between deliberate sins and sin of ignorance? Lev.4, Num.15:22-31
=Sins of Ignorance
=Lev. 4 and 5 forgiveness
=Deliberate sins

=there will be cut off
c. What kind of sin did they commit? 3:17
=you acted in ignorance
=New testament: all sins are forgiven.

5. Peter encouraged them to repent and receive God’s grace.
3:19 Repent then and turn to God
3:20 times of refreshing may come from the Lord
3:25,26 you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made
with your fathers. God sent Jesus first to you to bless you by turning
