=Jesus left Galilee and went around Samaria
=Jesus is now in Judea
How close was Jesus to His death?
=very close to cross
What did Jesus do even though death was closer? 10:1
=Jesus sends out the seventy-two
=Human minds are so weak
=though Jesus was on the way to the cross, Jesus still focused on training lay-missionaries to send out

=unknown followers

=place where he himself was about to go
What was the mission of the seventy-two? 10:5,9
=message, peace and healing
What does ‘The kingdom of God is near you’ mean?
=very soon
What might the people do when they heard and accepted the message from the disciples?
=repent and to be ready to receive the kingdom of God
=wake them up from spiritual sleeping
When does the Kingdom of God come?
=one who repents their sins and accepts Jesus, then Jesus will give the kingdom of God to person.
When does a man’s heart awake from spiritual sleeping?
=sleeping in Sin.
=when man receives a message,
=through the word of God or through the hardship of life

4. What does ‘The harvest is plentiful’ signify?
=plentiful
=whoever joins, they will bear fruits
What problem does the kingdom of God experience? 10:2
=shortage of laborers and gospel workers
What is the solution to this problem? 10:2
=therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest
Have you ever prayed God asking to send more harvest workers?
=when we ask to God, God will send more harvest workers

5. What dangers did Jesus warn them? 10:3
=I am sending you out as lambs among the wolves.
=we need to understand what the world is like.

What should the disciples know about their safety? 10:19
=Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
=Because God’s protection, we can go out into the world

6. What instructions did Jesus give to the disciples? 10:4-11
a. about the preparation 10:4 What does ‘Do not greet anyone on the road’ mean?
=do not waste your time

=Peace be to this house
=do not go from house to house

=peace and healing and God’s words
=we need to give them practice giving
=giving spirit

=Even the dust of your town that clings to your feet we wipe off against you
e. Whom does the message of the disciples represent? 10:16
=The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me,
and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.
=we need to have firm authority as God’s messenger
