I expect you know what it feels like to be forgotten by someone. You might have some funny stories to tell about that, or you might have a tragic story to tell. We know there are tragic stories to tell of children who have been forgotten by their parents - and this is confronting because we all know that this isn't what should happen.
When God is going to use an image to show people how much he loves them, he is going to use a strong image, and this is certainly a strong one. On Mother's Day 2022 we recognise that mother's love children and would never abandon them. But even if they did, God will not forget you.
And that is a beautiful promise.
