When the crowds at Jesus' trial started to get out of control, they chanted "Crucify him!" By the end, the priests declared that they had no king but Caesar, a statement they probably never imagined they would have uttered. Crowds can turn into mobs and mobs often do what no individual might choose to do on their own. Do we recognize the same spiritual danger in our lives? Are we at times caught up in the mob? Or like Pilate, are we sometimes ready to sacrifice Jesus to please the mob?
