There is the continuation from the previous passage concerning not relying on self but on the character of God. In the immediate preceding verses the issue was self- righteousness vs humbly relying upon God's mercy. In this passage the issue is relying on religion and riches vs humbly relying on divine salvation-work through Jesus.Child-like trust in Jesus saves and not religion or money.
