Morning Verses With Mike
I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

Colossians 3:16 (NLT)
'Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. '

In verses 12 through 15, Paul describes ten positive behaviors which Christians are supposed to practice. This verse offers the eleventh trait: letting the "word of Christ dwell in you richly."

This verse lists three specific applications of Christ's word dwelling in the life of a believer. The first two aspects are noted together: teaching and counseling. It is important that we invest time teaching with our peers, teaching with others who have questions and openly and fearlessly sharing the wisdom that we have found in Christ.

At the end of the verse, we are encouraged to raise our voices in song and praise to the Lord. The purpose here is simply to state that many types of music are to be used to praise and let Christ live in us.

Our songs and our hearts should have an attitude of thanksgiving. When we sing to God it is often an example of our gratitude to Him.
