With the current condition of the social, political, health, financial, and physical climate of our nation and the rest of the world, it is difficult at times for some of us to stay positive and focused on godly principles. This is why we are starting a new series called “Attitude of Gratitude”. In this series we will examine the necessity of having a heart of thanksgiving in the midst of a dark and dying world. In fact, it is in a dark and dying world when the Lord needs us most to carry out His plan for those who are lost. However, we cannot win the lost for Christ if we ourselves are also lost in our own pity party in camp complaining. God has anointed and ordained you and I to be His servants in this world, during time of calamity in these last days. But while being in this world during difficult times, we as humans have the tendency to look at our circumstances when facing calamity as dire, and it’s perfectly understandable. However sometimes when we face these calamities in life, it is in those moments when God is calling us to cry out to Him so that He can do what only He can do for our lives and for the lives of all those around us. When in hectic circumstances, we must cry out to the Lord having our eyes fixed on Him so that He can equipped and anointed us to carry out His work and His plan in this world! It is when we wander from the Lord that difficult times seem unbearable. We must be careful not to wander from the Lord as some tend to do, because when we wander from the Lord our hearts will never be prepared to face times of trouble. However, when we are connected to the Lord and filled with the Holy Spirit, God will sustain us during times of trouble no matter what. In addition, God will also equip and anointed us with everything we need to be a blessing to those around us. If at any given moment we are facing trouble in our lives, all we simply need to do is cry out to the Lord, He will hear us, help us, and sustain us. Psalm 107:1-9 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. 5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. AMEN!
