In this passage David is getting ready to face Goliath in battle. Goliath is a towering figure of a man who poses a threat to Israel. Others are afraid of him but not David. He remembers that God had delivered the lion and the bear previously into his hands because they were a threat to what God has entrusted him with. Sometimes we need to remeber the victories God has already given us as we move into our future. Once we do this then we will be able able to fight and destroy opposition that appears impossible.
