3:18 Fellow children, may we neither love by word or by speech but by our work and according to truth.

3:19 This is how we know we are from the truth, and so we will persuade our hearts in front of him.

3:20 Because if ever the heart should hold something against us, God is greater than our hearts and he knows all things.
