A live discussion of "Day Texts" for Wednesday, December 26, 2018 – 1 Timothy 1:15-16; 2:1-4 (Greek) from The Great Message translation:
1:15 This Message is reliable and worthy of absolute acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save those who do what is wrong [or, "sinners"], of whom I am a primary example.
1:16 In fact, for this reason I received mercy so Christ Jesus might show his great patience with me as a primary example, to be a standard for those who are about to believe because of him, resulting in unending life.
2:1 That is why foremost I ask for formal requests, for prayers, for intimate appeals, for expressions of thanks on behalf of all humankind,
2:2 on behalf of royal figures, and on behalf of all those who are in a position of high authority, so we may live a peaceful and quiet life with absolute godliness and dignity.
2:3 This is a fine thing. It is pleasing in the sight of our Savior, God,
2:4 who wants all humankind to be saved, and [or, "even"] to come to a recognition of truth.
