2:15 You must do your best to present yourself as a person approved [or, "valued"] by God, as a worker with no shame, correctly explaining the Message about the truth.

2:16 But you must stay far away from disrespectful, self-promoting discussions, for they will lead people to further separation from God.

2:17 Their message is like a fatal infection that will continue to spread. Hymenaeus and Philetus belong to this group.

2:18 Such men have lost their way to the truth, saying resurrection already has occurred. They also overturn the faith of some people.
