2:16 For Jesus does not lay claim to what belongs to angels. Instead, he lays claim to what belongs to the seed of Abraham.

2:17 Therefore, he was obligated to be made like his brothers in every way, so he might become a compassionate and reliable priest-leader when it comes to things involving God, such as helping obtain forgiveness for the sins of the people.

2:18 Indeed, the fact he has endured when being tested shows he can help those being tested.
