2:11 The one possessing an ear must listen to what the spirit says to the gatherings of Christians. The one who prevails will not likely be hurt because of the second death.

2:12 To the messenger of the Christians gathered in Pergamum, you must write: The one who controls the long, double-edged sword from which there is no escape says these things:

2:13 I know where you live, where there is Satan's official seat [or, 'throne']. You are holding onto my name and you did not deny the belief about me even during the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was put to death near you, where Satan dwells.

2:14 However, I am holding against you a few things, namely, you have people there sticking close to the teaching of Balaam, who instructed Balak to place an obstacle before the sons of Israel, eating food offered to idols and living open, obviously immoral lives.

2:15 In a similar way, you even have those who are likewise sticking close to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

2:16 So you must change your beliefs. But if you do not, swiftly I arrive and I will fight against them by using the sword of my mouth.
