Deut 11:30-12:9, May l, 2022, S-1486-KL

In today’s study, Pastor Kevin picks up with God’s command that the blessings and curses associated with the law were to be read on Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal when the Jews entered the Promised Land. Kevin then shows a picture from a recent archeological discovery of the oldest Hebrew writing ever found. This lead tablet was found at the Mount Ebal altar (see Joshua 8) dating back to Joshua’s day.

Then the study moves to Chapter 12 where God again emphasizes that the idols and high places of pagan Canaanite worship must be completely destroyed when the Jews get there, and that the Jews must not worship God wherever they want to, but instead must worship as God prescribed at the Tabernacle which is to be placed in the place that God chooses. Pastor Kevin then applies these laws to the new dispensation of the church.
