Over the past few days, we’ve been talking about the biblical process called renewing the mind. One important thing
to note about this process is that it involves much more than just taking in new knowledge. After all, knowledge is useless if we don’t do anything with that knowledge.
Renewing the mind needs to lead to change. In fact, sometimes t renewing the mind leads to a complete metamorphosis, an epiphany, s. a 180-degree alteration of how you think and believe and dream. And it always involves Holy Spirit.
Actually, renewing the mind is impossible without Holy Spirit, as
today’s verse make clear. Holy Spirit wants to help you comprehend the incredible favour and blessings God has poured out on you! He wants to teach you who you are in Christ. He also wants to help you to understand God, as verse 16 says, “For who has known or understood h the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord...? But we have the d mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and
purposes) of His heart” (AMPC).
Think about that for a minute! You have the mind of Christ, which
means you can think as He does. You can understand His thoughts and feelings, His will and His call on your life!
God wants you to know Him, and not just in a “head knowledge” kind of way. He wants you to have a close, intimate, give-and-take relationship with Him, and to achieve this, He’s given you His Spirit
inside you to lead and guide you!
