Great leaders are passionate, and their passion is contagious. The best team captains cause the team to rally around their drive and excitement. Their hearts burn within them for the game, for the win and for their team, and this passion ignites the people around them.
We were designed to live with passion in every area of life.
If you approach your relationships with a tired, defeated attitude, they’re going to suffer. But if you greet the people you love with passion, if you approach problem solving with passion, and if you never stop passionately pursuing your relationships, it has an incredible effect!
Having a detached attitude seems so cool in the movies, but it’s not. That kind of indifference kills relationships and sucks the life out of careers. Stir up your passion for your career and you will not only perform better, but you’ll attract others to your team!
This passion is missing in so much of Christianity today, but we were designed to serve God with passion, not indifference. As Jesus spoke to two men on the road to Emmaus, their hearts burned within them. By that, it means that His teaching evoked emotion, a passion for life, a drive to get up and discover more about Him, and a yearning to serve Him!
This is how we were designed to read the Word to get its full benefit: with passion! Today’s verse says it is more desirable than gold and sweeter than honey. Open your mind and your heart to a passionate pursuit of God and His promises and principles today!
