You hold a picture of the way you think your life is meant to be, and this picture is creating your future.
Subconsciously, you hold a picture of what family is like, and it’s creating your family dynamics. You hold a picture of what you expect in relationships, and even if it isn’t really what you want, that picture is helping to create those conditions in your life. The level of success you achieve in your career is also directly related to the picture you hold deep in your heart about yourself, your potential and success in general. If you are struggling in an area of your life, you need to ask yourself: what am I picturing?
While many of the pictures you hold in your heart were formed without your conscious knowledge, that doesn’t mean you are destined to live them out. You can form new pictures in your heart. When you meditate on what God’s Word says you can have, you get a new God- breathed vision—which is able to bring fantastic results. His Word contains thousands of promises that detail what a healthy relationship, great family, successful business and exciting marriage look like.
You can change your life by creating new pictures in your heart based on the promises you find in God’s Word. How? By meditating on those promises until you can picture them in your life.
When you read a promise in God’s Word, don’t just gloss over it. What would the fulfillment of that promise look like in your life, specifically? What would it feel like to walk it out? Keep picturing it until the vision becomes clear, and then your heart will empower you go to work to make it happen.
