Leadership is about influence, and it’s a God-assignment to His people. That doesn’t mean we’re always in charge or at the head of the parade because every true church is centered under the Lordship and authority of Jesus, and the essence of godly leadership is recognizing that you're under authority. If you're going to be a great leader in the Kingdom of God, you have to be a great follower, and that means being submitted to and obedient to a higher authority. It’s okay to feel inadequate and unprepared. That will put you in a good place to humbly pray: “God, help me recognize the influence You’ve entrusted to me, and help me use that influence for Your glory.”
