In James 1:22-25, we study the need to be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. It’s easy to just “go through the motions” when interacting with Scripture, but that is a huge detriment to ourselves. When we listen to the Bible but don’t put it into practice, it’s as foolish as looking into a mirror and not doing anything about what you see. We need to engage with Scripture anticipating change to take place. We must allow God’s Word to cut open and expose our lives as Hebrews 4:12-13 says so we can live holy lives.
