Unfortunately, sometimes when certain folk die, the movement, the work, the motivation, the joy and the excitement they were involved with dies with them. This was NOT the case for Jesus. This week’s sermon, DON’T BE AFRAID TO SAY IT AGAIN (42 Minutes, Acts 5:27-28; SRBC Cyber Sermon 31) is the ultimate example of a legacy living on. Pastor Johnson begins by setting the scene. He spoke of how the Apostles were called before a Jewish council in an attempt to intimidate them with their institutional authority. It was something about the name ‘Jesus’ but not in a positive way. Even the high priest couldn’t bring himself to use Jesus’ name. Instead, he contemptuously refers to “this man’s blood.” The Apostles however honored the name of Jesus and the power behind it. They vowed to love and spread His precious name. Pastor reminds us that truth must be told. Not the kind of truth that our president tells. Not the kind of truth that the president’s party supports. But the real truth-the name above all names, the one who brings salvation, the light the world, who brings hope for tomorrow, the joy of my salvation, the one who lives deep within’ our souls-JESUS! DON’T BE AFRAID Solid Rock. SAY IT AGAIN, and again, & again.
