I think we live in a society where youths are despised. Men naturally despise youth because we think that young people are not responsible, they cannot do it, they do not have enough knowledge, they are not experienced like as we are. But what then does a youth do in the light of such opinions and perspectives? Are we to argue with them? Are we to lament, are we complain? Are we to then throw our hands into the air and despair? But the Bible says: prove to them otherwise. 1 Tim 4:12: "Let no men despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers. In word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." In other words, the Bible tells us, instead of trying to argue, to fight, to lament, to complain or to despair, it should motivate us to lead an exemplary life. So it's not to argue, but to prove it. In what way should we live our lives? Well, the bible says, study the Scriptures, be an example of the believers in Word. Study the Scriptures in order to obey it, to fulfil it in your life. In conversation - that means in your behaviour. In charity - to show love. In spirit, that is your demeanour. In faith - your convictions. In purity. In other words, as a young person, maybe today you're a young person listening in. I encourage you, instead of trying to fight people with your words, do with in your walk. Be an example as Paul has advised Timothy to be. We don't have to let people tell us what we are. If they say we are irresponsible, we don't have to have that prophesy fulfilled in our lives. Obey God! Be an example! And that is the best way to show others the reality of God, even in young people today. God Bless.
