Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NLT)
Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.

At the start of anything, we are sometimes unsure of ourselves, say a job or task that we haven't done before. There is a certain amount of fear in the unknown of the attempt. And when you make it to the end, not only does it bring confidence in knowing the task better the next day or the next time you try it. Finishing brings a sense of accomplishment, a feeling of fulfillment. The second part of this verse ties in with the work example. Pride is not usually easily coachable. Prideful people are less likely to hear instruction in a task. And someone who is patient will listen. They will be consistent in their approach of a task at hand and make fewer mistakes. More likely to finish and complete what is needed and then reaping the reward.
