An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous escapes from trouble. — Proverbs 12:13

Sometimes when we read Proverbs, we could assume that righteous men will never suffer. But here, we see this is not the case. Both evil and righteous men experience suffering. The difference is how they experience it. The evil man brings in on himself and gets trapped by it. The righteous man has it brought upon him and escapes the snare.

And the delta between the two men is two-fold. First, the integrity of his words. Second, the type of man he is. And thus we learn the words a man speaks say a lot about who he is — and vice-a-versa.

So today, consider removing a word from your language. An empty and useless word that does not strengthen your integrity. One that's ensnared you. Just write it in the comments below, and let it be a sacrifice to the Lord. And speak carefully, live with integrity, and escape the snare of the evil man.

ASK THIS: What word's do you need to delete from your language to increase your integrity?

DO THIS: Share them below. And leave them there.

PRAY THIS: God, change me and the words I use as a man.
