Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching through 2 Timothy in this sermon from 2 Timothy 2:14-19, entitled, "Every Preacher's Assignment."
Accurate biblical teaching truly helps the hearers and safeguards the preacher. Unfaithful and inaccurate preaching hurts the hearers, and puts the preacher in the crosshairs of God’s wrath.
In 2 Timothy 2:14-19, the Apostle Paul instructs Timothy of the preacher’s assignment: to accurately preach Scripture, avoiding worldly teaching (irreverent empty talk) which doesn’t help the hearer and spreads like cancer. Paul warns Timothy, and all preachers, to beware that God will make a clear distinction between true teachers and false teachers, just as He did in Korah’s rebellion (Numbers 16).
