Okay, we know envy and jealousy are sinful, but God can say He is jealous? Absolutely, because God is the beginning and end of all things, and He can rightly be jealous for His people if they turn to inferior, false gods over Him. False gods and idols pose no threat to the Lord, but His zealous love for His people necessitates a righteous jealousy over something or someone that could never compare to Him.
