God reminded Israel that He had chosen them. They were the descendants of His servant Israel and His friend Abraham. The believer lives in security as the chosen of God. Yes, we are His servants but we are also His friends. He rightfully rules over our lives but He calls us friends as He reveals His good will and purposes for us. Because of this beautiful relationship we don't have to live in fear for He is always with us. He is our strength and empowerment for all of life.
