What if marriage is the highest level of Christian obedience—not an optional side assignment?

At our February Men’s Breakfast, Pastor Matthew Heller challenged men to rethink marriage entirely.

Drawing from Ephesians 5, he argues that being a godly husband is not passive, accidental, or based on personality—but something that must be trained for.

Marriage, he says, is the “Super Bowl” of the Christian life.

In this message, Pastor Heller walks men through the disciplines required to love a wife the way Christ loves the Church—not based on circumstances, emotions, or performance, but rooted in obedience to God.

This sermon presses hard questions:
What does it actually mean to deny yourself as a husband?
Are you leading your wife toward Christ—or just coexisting?
Do you lighten her load, or add to it?
Do you see marriage as a role you play—or a covenant identity you live out?

This isn’t a message about techniques or tips.
It’s a call to train, die to self, and embrace marriage as an act of worship.
