Once again, Paul asserts his Roman citizenship at a critical moment. And, once again, Paul leverages these rights against the injustice of the state -- one of the forces that repeatedly stands in the way of Christ's Gospel. In addition to injustice, throughout the Book of Acts we have repeatedly seen the Gospel resisted by ethnic and religious prejudice and by mobs that are manipulated by those in power. These same forces continue to resist the Gospel today and God calls us to fight against them.
