There's gonna be some competing voices and I just find in a culture of self-care God already addressed that. It's called the Sabbath. He addressed that before it became a cultural norm in our society. And I believe as long as even if you take a day for self-care it's not gonna fix the root problem if the other 6 days are not structured around Him. That our soul is getting true rest found in Him. And I can only imagine some of the competing voices going through Peter's head. The voice of professionalism "This is my business What does this guy know?" The voice of ego "What are my colleagues gonna think of me?" The voice of realism "Come on it's not gonna happen." The voice of exhaustion "I don't think I can go again." But I love through all those voices Peter understands that there's something different about this voice. There's something on this voice. There's something holy about this voice.
