In James 2:14-24 "the Bible say "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works". I other words, if you have faith you are to exercise your faith by helping others and doing good works. The problem is that many so called Christians think that just giving there tithe is just enough. Wrong song. That is not enough for God. If you say you are a believer but turn a brother or sister in Christ away from doing everything you can to help them, you are hurting yourself in the long run. God will take away your blessing because you refused to blessed some one else.
Another thing is that when you do good works it gives you a crown to later lay at the feet of Jesus when you crown him King of kings and Lord of Lords. In the meantime, your good works gives you a crown. There are 5 crowns that a beliver can receive. The incorruptible crown: 1 Cor. 9:24,25; The crown of rejoicing: 1 Thess. 2:19, 20. & Dan 12:3; The crown of life: James 1:12; The crown of righteousness: 2 Tim. 4:8; and The crown of glory: 1 Pet. 5:1-4.
