For Jesus who are you?
As we enter this Christmas season I caught myself asking these questions: For Jesus who am I? How does he see me?
For Jesus who are you? How does he see you?
That is not so easy of a question to answer, is it?
Most of the time we ask: Who is Jesus for me? Who is Jesus for us? Right?
From the Bible we learn that:
For Paul .... he says: For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain Philippians 1:21
What does this mean? It means that as long as Paul was a live his life would be a continuous awareness to live daily according to God's will. Fully surrendered and devoted to God.
In Ephesians 4:1 we read: I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
For Peter: You are the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of the living God - Matthew 16:16
For me: the word that describes it best is friend, not any friend, but a faithful friend! In all these years walking with Jesus and having Him by my side, the sense and knowledge that He will never leave or forsake me is an amazing insurance. Also Father, Savior, Lord, Hope, Freedom - if the Son sets you free you are free indeed John 8:36.
For David and all those that have already given their lives to Jesus, for Him to be their Lord and Savior, Psalms 18 declares: oh Lord You are: my strength- twice, rock, fortress, deliverer, salvation, stronghold, shield, support, strong tower
For Isaiah: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
So, the not so easy question to answer, again is: For Jesus who are you?
This is what God had to say about some of his followers:
Enoch: a man that walked with me – genesis 5:24
David: a man after my own heart – 1Samuel 13:14
Paul: a chosen vessel of mine - Acts 9:15
John the Baptist: among those born of a woman no one greater than John the Baptist has appeared – Matthew 11:11
Mary Magdalene: what she has done will also be told in memory of her she would be remembered for her action – Matthew 26:13
The question still stands: What would Jesus say about you? Have you thought about this lately? How is your life with Jesus today?
For us Christians Ephesians 4:1 again exhorts us: live a life worthy of your calling
For you that have not yet received Jesus into your life and if it is your desire to give your life to Jesus I submit to you that you can do it right now wherever you are at in your walk.
You can repeat after me a simple but powerful prayer inviting Jesus into your heart. Even though it will be my words it will translate your hearts desire.
So, if you are ready and willing repeat this prayer after me: Lord Jesus, I confess that I'm a sinner, come into to my life, forgive my sins and wash me clean, be my Lord, my friend, my Savior, help me to walk with you all the days of my life in Jesus name I pray amen.
If you said this prayer and meant it in your heart the Bible declares that you are born again and that you will have eternal life. Your sins are forgiven and there is no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus.
Find a good Bible-based church to go to, read your Bible daily, starting with the Gospel of John.
