Galatians 6:12 - It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

Beware of compromising our commitment to Jesus and His good news because of our desire to please others.

Galatians 2:12-13 - For before certain men came from James, [Peter] was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.
Galatians 2:14 - But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, "If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?"
1 Corinthians 6:7 - To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

A desire to please others may cause us to ignore hypocrisy in ourselves.

Luke 9:23 - And [Jesus] said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
Hebrews 12:2 - looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
2 Corinthians 11:24-27 - Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger form false brothers; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.

People pleasers will be bothered by people's attempts to shame them or to humiliate them for following Christ.
